duo realis vibration 62

vib68_hooksIf you haven’t heard about DUO lures by now, then I suggest you get out to your local tackle shop and get a look at these in the flesh, they produce some quality gear. Imported by Daiwa Australia, these amazing lures come direct from Japan and like everything from Japan, they are known for their beautiful craftsmanship, smart designs and have a serious fish catching reputation!
I had the opportunity to throw a few samples around Glenbawn Dam, NSW and can say I was very impressed, especially with the DUO Realis Vibration 62. It’s modern design looks great, and thanks to its sleek aerodynamic body –  I could produce long casts with minimal effort, even into a stiff westerly that plagued us all trip. The weight and shape of this lure mean it can be fished with most outfits.

Personally, I really liked fishing this lure with ultra-light spin gear.  The aerodynamics allowed me to fish it comfortably and still manage a good sink rate without the bulk restricting casting. Fishing was tough on this trip, the water was quite cold and fish hadn’t really worked their ways to the edge of shorelines and trees, so sounding them out on the flats and deep holes was where we had success.  I fished the Realis Vibration 62 on the flats with a long cast out and a super slow roll back to the boat with a couple of long pauses. This technique seems quite basic, but the huge rattle that comes out of the belly of this lure with a fixed weight system and multiple free rolling bearings makes for some big sound without effecting the balance on retrieve.

When fishing deep areas in strong wind, I would cast this lure past the boat as we motored up over the fish we were marking. A slow drift back towards the area and a lift and drop retrieve would produce a great verticle wriggle of the bait which in turn managed to sway a few fish out of a very shutdown school. These baits have known bass, bream and flathead applications, but should also do some serious damage on other species such as mangrove Jack, threadfin salmon and even snapper.

The Realis Vibration 62 is a lipless crankbait, it weighs in at 11 grams and has a length of 62mm.  On the inside of this lure is where it really comes alive. As the rattling bearings bounce off the fixed weight… it pumps outs some really great vibrations. This bait comes in 16 amazing colours, ranging from the very realistic baitfish imitations to the super bright hi-vis that we and fish love!
With Duos quality in mind, these lures are finished off with some super sharp and very sticky sized #6 trebles that will catch you fish straight out of the box.
